We are seeking an initiative-taking, driven, and dependable Mechanical Foreman. This candidate will possess a mastery in field installation for commercial HVAC presets. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing a jobsite crew and subcontractors. Position: Mechanical Foreman

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee install and set-up of cooling equipment for a variety of commercial, industrial and medical facilities, as needed.
  • Procure materials, tools and equipment to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Reconcile procurement.
  • Estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Attend and conduct weekly meetings, including safety.
  • Ensure overall jobsite safety.
  • Responsible for look aheads and daily reports/JSA’s.
  • Monitor installation of pumps and VFDs.
  • Ensure efficient jobsite layout.
  • Manage day-to-day crew, maintaining a positive work environment and handling any necessary verbal notices to helpers, installers and mechanics.
  • Review crew timesheets on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Regularly communicate with superintendent to confirm any project needs/requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring quality control of all assigned jobsites.
  • Maintain and enforce code regulations.
  • Call for inspections, inspect and test systems.
  • Enforce safety policies and respond to incidents.
  • Mark up drawings daily.
  • Place requests for new system start-ups.
  • Handle any requests for needed tools/equipment.
  • Perform necessary equipment/system testing for all assigned jobsites.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary certifications applicable to the industry.
  • Promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with proper operation of all equipment.
  • Accurately complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Consistently strive for results that achieve standards of excellence.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Minimum of five to seven years in commercial HVAC industry, required.
  • Experience installing commercial HVAC equipment – Chillers, boilers, fresh air equipment, strongly preferred.
  • Capable of handling employee incidents by providing verbal notices to crew members.
  • Knowledge of Trane, Carrier, AAON, Leibert, Daikin/McQuay and York interfaces/operating systems.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.
  • Good coordination, physical fitness and dexterity.
  • Ability to think outside the box to create innovative and money-saving solutions for clients.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Positive initiative-taker who is coachable and willing to learn new things.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
