About the role

As a Product Design Manager, you will be leading and driving large initiatives with a team of direct reports, crafting our enterprise admin and end-user experiences for Citrix's Cloud and on-premises products. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams globally that include executives, product, engineering, design, and UX research leadership to define and drive initiatives from idea to completion, as well as drive results and success metrics. You will have an empathic demeanor and be able to mentor design teams to foster design thinking culture across the organization. You are a storyteller with the ability to influence and persuade. You are able to understand complex systems and identify the gaps within the systems. You have a diverse set of design skills and most importantly, you will be a driver of change, open to new possibilities, impact oriented, have a good sense of humor, and a great culture fit.

The job description typically includes the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

* Recruits and hires product designers to grow the team

* Inspires and holds team members accountable for engaging and collaborating as a team as well as contributes and maintains cohesiveness of design team

* Demonstrates design leadership within the team by advocating effectively for the user

* Serves as a key driver for the design process and product strategy

* Contributes to and promotes the mission and goals of product design both internally and externally

* Reviews designs to ensure quality and offer design guidance to teammates

* Works directly with direct reports to establish annual performance and career goals, and tracks their progress

* Writes and delivers performance reviews for direct reports

* Takes ownership over team designs, decisions, and deliverables

* Helps to lead design vision and direction for a product or suite of products

* Innovates and drives design strategy and solutions across products, domains, and complex systems often where the problem space is ill-defined to ensure vision aligns with business goals and user needs

* Leads cross-functional team partnerships with product management, engineering, and research to drive and execute the design vision and new projects

* Develops deep understanding of business practices and rationale

* Guides designers to conduct in-depth user research and testing to inform design decisions

* Leads design reviews to help weighs, receive, and integrate diverse feedback

* Mentors others across functional areas on design solutions providing feedback

* Proactively collaborates with senior leaders across the organization to ensure design is integrated into all aspects of the product development process

* Stays up-to-date with design and technology trends and best practices and brings new ideas to the organization

* Presents regularly for the design team and organization

* Drives UX team culture and processes

Requirements:

* Minimum of 8 years of experience in user experience (UX) and interface (UI) design for multiple products and a minimum of 2 years managing product design teams

* BA/BS degree, but Masters or PhD is preferred, applied experience considered

* Strong portfolio showcasing product design, leadership, and product strategy experience

* Strong understanding of design thinking, user-centered design, and design systems

* Expertise design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

* Expert in storytelling with strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

* Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of designers and projects

* Proven track record of successful design projects

* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
