The Pharmacy Technician I fills the medication cart/patient drawers in the mornings; delivers patients' medication to the nursing units; fills the night locker bags from night usage, has the pharmacist check the work, and delivers them back to the units from where they came; restocks the emergency room with floor stock medications and vials; fills surgery's floor stock requests; fills all other floor stock requests; mixes/prepares a 24 hour period of IV medications Monday through Thursday and a 72 hour preparation on Friday; writes needed pharmaceuticals on want book so that pharmacist can order; places into stock pharmaceuticals delivered to the hospital; prepares all invoices for payment; processes emergency room billing and inpatient billing; assists pharmacist in prescription filling; reviews and checks for completeness of daily narcotics records from each nursing unit; prepares and ships outdated medications as directed; orients new pharmacy employees; assists pharmacist in QAI data collection; understands QAI activities and takes an active role; and performs other duties as assigned.
Degree / Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Registration with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy required.
One (1) year minimum exp.

Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment.
