CareStaff Partners is seeking an experienced School Psychologist for a critical contract position with a School District near Cambridge, MD.

  • Contract Length: 26 Weeks

Job Duties and Role Responsibilities:

As a School Psychologist you will specialize in working with students individually or in groups to help deal with various behavioral issues, learning difficulties, disabilities, emotional problems, and other concerns. The School Psychologist will typically work full-time and may need to travel to serve multiple schools in the area. The School Psychologist will also be responsible for helping students process issues such as bullying, social anxiety, problems with authority and problems at home. You will provide counseling, mentoring, and instructional services to help promote wellness by reinforcing strong communication, problem-solving, anger management, self-regulation, or social skills. Other job duties for a School Psychologist may include:

  • Listen to concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
  • Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
  • Promote positive behaviors
  • Meet with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial and social problems
  • Study and implement behavioral management techniques
  • Research and implement learning programs
  • Evaluate and advise school disciplinary practices for troubled students
  • Participate in special education by administering psychological tests
  • Providing health advice to school educational teams, such as the Committee on Special Education and the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) team
