Job Description:

Job Title: Cisco Network Engineer
Location: Must live within 1 hour commute to; Reading, PA OR Akron/Toledo OH, Greensburg/Erie, PA or Morristown/ Holmdel, NJ (100% remote)
DIRECT-HIRE

You will join our DATA Network team as a full-time employee. As the Data Network Engineer, your responsible for architecture, engineering, design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and ongoing reliability of Local Area Network (LAN) systems. This includes designing, configuring & supporting Cisco routers and switches. The ideal candidate will have CCNP or CCIE level of experience.

Position Requirements:

• 7+ years of Cisco routing/switching (CCIE level preferred)
• Experience doing hands on cisco projects (migrations, upgrades
• In-depth experience of BGP
• OSI reference model experience
• Lead networks projects
• Built and configurate Cisco devices and hardware

High-Level Position Responsibilities:

• Senior Cisco Network engineer providing CCNP or CCIE level of expertise.
• Design and delivery of new Cisco products/product enhancements.
• Implementing technical standards and regulatory requirements to Data Network systems.
• Staying current with technology changes and the relationships of technology to emerging business requirements.
• Leveraging Cisco management tools, HP Operations Manager, HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), ServiceNow, and other tools used to monitor, control & track the performance of these systems and manage the work.
• Providing daily support for the Data Network team that supports the many technology platforms delivering data, voice, video, and computing services to employees, contractors, and business partners.
• Understanding and following all applicable policies & procedures to effectively manage risk to our Data Network environments.
• Delivering high-performance high-availability LAN systems, in a 24/7 enterprise, fully monitored to achieve service expectations, scalable to business needs, and that have appropriate disaster recovery capabilities.
• Participating in LAN projects to ensure computing and network architecture solutions are solid, well integrated, and comply with technical strategy.
• Supporting the operational performance and maintenance of existing Data Network systems as well as design and delivery of new products/product enhancements.
• Staying current with technology changes and the relationships of technology to emerging business requirements.
• Leveraging Cisco management tools, HP Operations Manager, HP Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), ServiceNow, and other tools used to monitor, control & track the performance of these systems and manage the work.

Nice to have:
• CCNP or CCIE certification preferred but not required
• ISIS routing protocols
• Arista experience
• voice & video technologies and services (VoIP, voice mail, voice recorders, phones, IVR, video conferencing systems, and satellite).
• Relevant technical experience includes routing and switching equipment, LAN topologies, network protocols, wireless LAN systems (Cisco wireless a plus), data center networks, and
• Knowledge of the OSI reference model.
• Ability to read sniffer traces to identify complex performance issues is preferred.

Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field or equivalent work experience in a network engineering or operations environment
