Interventional Radiology RN
The Interventional Radiology nurse position at WellStar Kennestone Hospital is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge, working with experts in the areas of Neurovascular Intervention, Interventional Radiology, and Vascular Surgery. The Vascular Institute is a specialized procedural area where the registered nurse would have the opportunity to work closely with physicians, providing care to a variety of patients.
The Vascular Institute is an integral part of the growing Neuroscience program, and we participate in several cutting edge research studies. You will also have the opportunity to care for patients undergoing a wide variety of interventional radiology procedures, and procedures performed by vascular surgeons.
Our Vascular Institute nursing staff strives to provide personalized, patient-centered care where safety is the priority. If you join our team, you will have the opportunity to care for patients requiring procedures such as:
- Emergent Thrombectomy for Stroke
- Coiling of Cerebral Aneurysm
- Cerebral Angiogram
- Chemo Embolization
- Embolization for treatment of GI bleeds
- TIPS-Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt
- G-tube Insertion
- Paracentesis and Thoracentesis
- Angiogram and intervention for peripheral vascular disease
The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Site Manager. He/she is responsible for performing a wide variety of clinical procedures requiring independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of the equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. The registered nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of age specific needs. Addresses the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and patient/family education needs in providing care to the patient and family. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions.
Required Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited/approved School of Nursing and holds a current license in the State of Georgia. Maintain basic and advanced life support certifications.
Required Minimum Experience ICU / CCU /ER or previous Cath Lab experience.
Required Minimum Skills The individual must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude.
