As a Sr. Technical Product/Project Manager you will be setting up the vision for the capability you will be owning and driving the execution in collaboration with partner teams. You will play a critical role in ability to deliver products to market and/or manage internal business functions. You will be responsible for driving the vision for various data focused capabilities with Optum Data Enablement (ODE) team.

As a Sr. Technical Product/Project Manager you will be ensuring alignment to business and product strategy, effective design and development, and ongoing management of capability portfolio across the full lifecycle to ensure business-specific or cross-enterprise impact. You will be leveraging Market insights to monitor trends and external landscape, and to inform capability strategies and customer use case scenarios. Additionally you will be accountable for delivering sustainable, financially sound solutions that solve a specific problem and enable successful external product delivery and/or internal business function performance, while driving adoption with internal business clients and define future capability direction that supports business strategy and new opportunities. We need a resource that can manage the following for ongoing workstreams with in ODE:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive capability vision, strategy, priority, and roadmap and engage appropriate enterprise-wide stakeholders to enable awareness and alignment
  • Manage the capability and its usage across businesses across the lifecycle, using a defined development process
  • Awareness of broad market trends, with deep understanding of relevant business and/or product strategies and related use cases

  • Partner with stakeholders to enable successful prioritization, development, delivery, and adoption of capability (assign and manage business value) Manage ongoing capability performance, expansion, financial health, roadmap, and lifecycle decisions
  • Serve as the capability champion and apply deep expertise to credibly represent, manage and engage with business(es)
  • Align on scope of any new project involving ODE (particularly E2E projects), for example Ambulatory, Acute, Clinical, Vendors, Technology Stack
  • Align on requirements from downstream consumers, while scoping features and laying out roadmap 
  • Ensure dependencies are understood and work is aligned to appropriate team, based on solution design
  • Oversee high-level work items across teams to ensure implementations are progressing as expected 
  • Communicate status and progress to management and stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in conducting and facilitating requirements gathering and performing system analysis or equivalent business process analysis
  • 4+ years of experience in writing technical documentation, such as business process improvement, workflow diagrams, models, technical specifications, user stories etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in meeting with dev team to explain documented business requirements and provide success criteria for developers
  • 2+ years of experience in consulting with stakeholders on complex technical issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the following:
    • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
    • Agile methodology such as Scrum or Kanban
    • Matrix environment
    • Collaborating with a globally based team  
    • Roadmap tool such as Aha!
    • SDLC tool such as Rally
    • Diagram tool such as Visio
    • Data Analysis
    • SQL Queries
  • Familiarity or Experience with Healthcare data (Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Payer data etc.)
  • Familiarity or Experience with AWS or Azure Platform

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
