Description: Our client is a Leader in High Performance Plastics & Composites Manufacturing for Aerospace & Medical Device Markets seeking a Sales Account Manager for their Plant/Corp HQ in Hampden County, Mass. 

Position Title:Sales Account Manager
Department:Sales & Marketing 
Reports to:General Manager
Job Type: Full-time Salaried Position 

Position Summary: 
  • Primary responsibilities include management of key customer accounts and building strong relationships with key managers within those corporations to expand business. 
  • Quoting new programs, interfacing with engineering and operations teams to define proposal requirements is a necessity. 
  • This position also is responsible for developing new business with potential new customers and working with the business development team on the customer engagement process.
Skill and Experience Requirements: 
  • Technical understanding and fluency in medical devices (protocol, development, support, etc.), as well as injection molding 
  • Experience in injection molding, part qualification, injection mold tooling, general manufacturing practices, and overall knowledge of cGMP in an ISO 13485 and AS 9100 manufacturing environments. 
  • Requires selling skills and to be trained in the format of the Counselor Selling Process provided by Wilson Learning Systems. 
  • Requires having three years’ experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering. 
  • Requires having three years minimum in Sales. Education Requirements 
  • Bachelor's degree (Required) 
  • Work authorization: United States (Required) 

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities: 
  • Responsibilities include supporting customer service on pricing and delivery questions for existing customers in our manufacturing locations. 
  • Development and maintenance of a system for re quoting existing parts in a timely manner, including BOM accuracy, gross margin review, and minimum lot sizes. 
  • Develop qualified opportunities based on our core competencies and have a thorough understanding of ideal customer and ideal project profiles. 
  • Utilize CRM system (Salesforce.com) to retain customer information, mine for new opportunities, and track opportunities from creation to close. 
  • Develop and drive a marketplace awareness of our capabilities through SEO, whitepapers, trade shows, etc. 
  • Participate in the preparation for and handling of trade shows, seminars, on-site demonstrations, customer plant visits, audits, etc. 
  • Work closely with the department managers to support customer success including ensuring sufficient volume of closed opportunities and customer satisfaction after sales. 
  • Support quoting activity as necessary including developing costing, determining pricing and writing proposal letters. 
  • Interface with existing and potential customers on product design and development, material selection, tooling specifications, processing considerations, and quality assurance. Draw upon internal resources as required. 
  • Travel to customers and other facilities as necessary to support sales initiatives. 
  • Support development of annual sales budgets and review with management. 
  • Participate in a weekly pipeline meeting to report on pipeline, activity, and coordination of sales activities. 
  • Lead the pipeline meeting for a weekly basis as required by plant manager and department managers. 
  • Provide market trend data and develop marketing campaigns required to maintain and grow opportunities in our marketplace. 
  • Provide coordination of quotes and proposals within all facilities to insure we align with similar pricing and margins. Obtain approval from the General Manager, Plant Manager, and Finance Controller in regard to pricing and margin prior to customer delivery. 
  • Work closely with the customer service departments to develop guidelines on customer interaction as it relates to minimum purchase quantities and pricing support. 
  • Develop and maintain a unified/harmonized quote template for use on all injection molding opportunities. 
  •  Support quoting activity as necessary including developing costing, determining pricing and writing proposal letters. Utilize Paperless Parts quoting system as capabilities become available.
