Description
This remote position is to execute the Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) programs for multiple customers, including, but not limited to, US Navy, US Army, US Air Force, and NASA, and multiple platforms, including mechanical and electronic systems. The candidate will have a good general understanding of both vehicle, aircraft, and weapon hardware and software, along with the understanding of reliability engineering, including reliability and maintainability (R&M) allocation, failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS), fault detection isolation and recovery (FDIR), and determining component failure probabilities. Position is remote for local candidates in Florida and Indianapolis, Indiana only.
Responsibilities will include assisting in the processes development for use of component reliability and maintainability data in determining adherence to the service level agreements, participating in weekly technical interchange between operations and maintenance teams, and performing reliability analyses. Additionally, the successful candidate may be responsible for functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and document preparation for complex systems and processes. The candidate must be willing to work on multiple projects and programs concurrently, and will potentially be utilized to help develop solutions for future customers.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, or related science degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years experience. A Master’s Degree in Engineering or science is also preferred, although, an additional 2 years of related experience for the specific skills can be substituted for the MS degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
2 plus years of related experience in the field of Reliability and Maintainability Engineering or statistical analysis
Possess a strong industrial and/or systems engineering expertise. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics, process failure and maintenance data to determine mission success rates, and to manage failure reporting and corrective actions.
Experience in reliability engineering and/or statistical analysis is required.
Strong communication and analytical skills, including the ability to develop general concepts into an actionable plan, and have the ability to present these results to senior management.
A self-starter and willing to develop further research into R&M applications.
Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office; to write technical papers or reports, utilize templates in summarizing reports into presentations, and perform analysis of data using spreadsheet applications.
Due to the work location, a successful completion of an investigation at the secret level may be required to work on the Program. If the candidate is not a US citizen, this check could take 12-18 months to complete.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Understanding Command, Control, & Communications software algorithms and hardware .
Understanding of R&M allocations, Cut Set Analysis, and Importance Measure Analysis.
Experience with PTC Windchill Quality Solutions/PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability (formally RELEX), Matlab, or other reliability and statistical analysis software.
