Biomaker Scientist

Responsibilities:
  • Support lead Biomarker Assay Scientist in the development, optimization, and validation of biomarker assays including ELISA and other plate based methods (absorbance, fluorescence, and electrochemiluminescence).
  • Perform plate-based biomarker assays in support of internal (CRU) and external protocols.
  • Prepare validation samples, QC samples, and reagents.
  • Assist with sample collection and perform sample extraction when needed.
  • Support Biomarker Lead to train other Biomarker Assay Scientists on all aspects of biomarker analysis.
  • Perform Quality Control, calibration checks, and stability checks on instruments, reagents, assays and techniques.
  • Perform maintenance on plate readers, plate washers and other laboratory instruments that may be assigned and maintain quality control and calibration logs.
  • Analyze, summarize and document experimental results.
  • Perform data entry using laboratory information management system (LIMS) and QC data extracts.
  • Track sample lifecycle in LIMS, including QC of sample shipments.
  • Draft and/or QC experimental SOPs, analysis templates, assay checksheets, validation plans and reports, study plans and reports as needed.
  • Validate analysis template if requested.
  • Update the Biomarker Lead on the status, results and problems in method development and performance of the assays.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Outlook and Microsoft Excel and LabStats to analyze data.
  • Perform any other projects/duties that may be assigned by the Operations Director/Lead Biomarker Assay Scientist.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Biology plus 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Assay work is critical.
