Eating Recovery Technicians (FT/ PT)

POSITION SUMMARY: Monitors, educates, and assists residents in the community, leads activities designed to help the residents adjust to living in a community setting, provide education lectures for nutrition and healthy eating, and assists the residents in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder.

A FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE CARD IS REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provides direction and monitoring of meal plans to include the exchange system, my plate, or following registered dietitian orders.
  • Plans and conduct nutrition intervention/education programs as indicated.
  • Monitor residents weight, height, BMI and development for each age group as indicated.
  • Provides nutrition education to residence individually or in groups as needed.
  • Maintains current knowledge and implements nutritional care according to age, gender, cultural, spiritual, and medical and psychosocial needs/requirements of the residents.
  • Provide encouragement and support during admission and throughout entire stay.
  • Supports resident eating at mealtimes and snacks.
  • Supports residence during structured outings and recreation.
  • Provides mealtimes supports for resident's and monitors and documents resident’s meal consumption
  • Facilitates meal planning groups with client's
  • Supervises client's during a demonstration of how to prepare to ensure meal plan compliance
  • Reporting observations and documenting in charts.
  • Reviews productions schedule to determine food requirements including variety and quantity of food for preparation into a sample supplies and equipment needed for cooking activities.
  • Conducts cooking classes with client's
  • Maintains a clean, cemetery, demonstration kitchen including making special arrangements for special diets and ensuring proper requirements are met within facility aggravation complaint standards - Joint Commission.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

The ideal candidate will have completed or be in process of completing either a dietary degree, or be in process of a social working degree, or related health field, have a passion for treatment of the eating disorders, possesses basic cooking skills, food safety knowledge, and will have the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
