12+ month contract/project position with large national, safety products manufacturing company. Onsite (no remote work). Candidates local to Monroe NC only. No medical surveillance requirements. 1st shift. No C2C or B2B. No sponsorship availability.
Job Summary: The person hired for the position of Industrial Engineer will be to support the configuration, NPI (New Product Introduction) development, and continued support of the current ERP system (BAAN). The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of BOM's, Cost accounting, Product configuration, Item master maintenance and other process improvement and inventory control activities.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Support the maintenance ERP module configurations. * Provide guidance to business users on best usage of system features. * Identify opportunities for the improvement of the system. * Participate on other Enterprise initiatives as they relate to the ERP system and the transition to SAP. * Work with ERP systems users and management to determine appropriate system configuration and setup. * Assist ERP systems users with data conversion. * Assist with testing new releases of ERP systems prior to use in a production environment. * Assist in process improvement and inventory control activities. * General analytics and reporting.
Basic Qualifications: * Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in a Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in a Computer Science, Management Information Systems engineering discipline from an accredited institution * 1+ years of experience and/or demonstrated outstanding performance in a related position * Minimum 3 years of ERP responsibilities with experience in 6-Sigma tools in a private, public, government or military environment * Broad detailed knowledge of operations and New Product Implementation processes (Planning, BOM, Item master maintenance) * Knowledge of digital data acquisition tools and techniques * Skills include strong organizational, analytical and communication skills * Proficient in PFMEA, Control Plans and Flow Diagraming, New Product Implementation
