Volt has partnered with a leading general contracting firm based in Austin, TX, specializing in ground-up and new, adaptive reuse and remodel construction in the healthcare, restaurant, hospitality, corporate, manufacturing, industrial, and technology environments. This award-winning firm is looking for a Superintendent to join their growing team.

The Superintendent is responsible for supervising the field construction of a project, ensuring all schedules and deadlines are met, and verifying the quality of work meets specifications. The Superintendent is expected to uphold the company's unmatched consistency in delivering successful projects that meet clients' objectives with extraordinary levels of quality and service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day construction operations
  • Quality control of work to ensure schedule and budget are maintained, while adhering to the specified standard of workmanship
  • Interface with clients
  • Communicate accurate project schedule and tracking of sub-production information and specification requirements with the subcontractors and suppliers
  • Document tracking, maintenance of accurate drawing logs, and comprehensive submittal registry
  • Management and maintenance of all field operations including material deliveries, health and safety measures, cleanliness and order of the work site, and quality of the work production
  • Responsible for the timely quality control inspections and all official inspections
  • Field operations - material deliveries, health and safety, jobsite cleanliness, labor management, daily logs
  • Examine contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details, and possible code violations
  • Oversee project startup including mobilization of all work-related manpower, work hours, material, equipment, dumpsters, port-a-cans, and property requirements
  • Track all time and material work performed on the project
  • Coordinate, direct, monitor, and inspect the activities of the subcontractors and suppliers
  • Create and manage detailed job schedule with all subcontractors and other construction-related personnel during the life of the project

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial, ground-up projects
  • Demonstrated track record of success as a Superintendent
  • Strong knowledge of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts
  • Must be able to read blueprints and understand project cost analysis
  • Excellent organization, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computers skills with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • OSHA training certification at the 30-hour level required preferred but not required
