Job Description

Weichert Co. is hiring a Vice President, Corporate Communications and Social Media. The VP, Corporate Communications & Social Media is responsible for generating positive external visibility and engagement for Weichert, Realtors, it's agents, offices, and the Weichert Family of Companies through various news channels, community service initiatives, and social media platforms.This includes strategy development, planning, and oversight of all editorial and content strategies across various platforms and distribution channels. The position also oversees the Company's internal communications efforts, which include the development and distribution of communications vehicles to both employees and Sales Associates. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Manages the development of the overall social media and media relations strategies for the Weichert Family of Companies and its people, products and services.
* Oversees development of social-specific content across all media channels, ensuring brand priorities are met (images, video, copy)
* Meets with senior executives throughout the company to ensure public relations materials best support company objectives.
* Directs daily operations and initiatives, including editorial calendars, content development/execution and engagement with users.
* Works closely with Marketing, Advertising and Weichert University to ensure consistency in external and internal messaging.
* Advises senior executives at corporate headquarters and in the field on a variety of business communication issues to improve and increase positive news coverage and to avoid or minimize potentially negative coverage.
* Directs the development, writing and issuing of news releases promoting Weichert sales office achievements, community involvement, etc.
* Responsible for delivery of all internal communications for the company, including the weekly sales meeting template, e-mail newsletters, and various employee and Sales Associate messages.
* Provides strategic counsel to augment the Company's social media, community relations and sales promotion efforts.
* Oversees team coordination of numerous company events and fundraisers.
* Maintains good working relationships with members of the media and internal contacts.
* Performs other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred
* 4-6 years of experience working in a digital/social media capacity, prior work with retail or consumer packaged goods brand a plus
* Related corporate communications experience, with at least two (2) years of media relations experience working with general, business and trade reporters
* Previous supervisory experience required
* Passion for social media with strong knowledge of social media platforms
* Experience managing social media initiatives in a corporate setting required
* Exceptional oral and written communications skills that relay enthusiasm about the Company
* Attention to detail and ability to manage team(s) in a fast-pace, deadline-oriented environment
* Ability to multitask and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
