Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:

As a Design Drafter, you will create 3D and 2D models, drawings, and other materials to ensure

accurate fabrication and assembly of customer orders.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role

* Drafting Development & Design: 60% of the Job
* Creates and develops 3D models, layouts and prints accurately reflect the engineering

vision or design to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of new or redesigned products.

* Creates and develops drafting illustrations to assist with the technical writing area that will accurately

demonstrate the assembly or product information needed for customer material.

* Create the Bill of Materials for all new or enhanced products to ensure efficient and accurate assembly.
* Communicates, collaborates, and interfaces with the Engineering and Technical Writing to assist in

problem resolution and re-design solutions throughout the process.

* Manual / Technical Writing: 20% of the Job
* Learn to use the fundamentals of Adobe FrameMaker to make changes to manual.
* Eco Processing: 20% of the Job
* Ensure that the Eco Notes spreadsheet is filled out completely and correctly as well as checking any prints for typos, correct revisions and documentation.
* Process in the ERP system what the eco is doing such as releasing new numbers, enhancing Bill of Materials, obsoleting part numbers, etc.
* Assign tasks to various personnel outside of the Engineering department that are needed to complete the eco process.

The job criteria may include other duties, responsibilities and activities, which may change or be assigned at any item with or without notice.

Position Requirements:

* Education: Associates Degree in Engineering, Technology, CAD Design, or similar field or equivalent combination of education and course work will be considered.
* Experience: 3+ years of advanced 3D and 2D AutoCAD drafting experience in a sheet metal manufacturing or similar manufacturing type environment, who has managed multiple projects, as well as mentored / trained other preferred.
* Certification(s): N/A
* Functional Skills: Proficient CAD Drafting skillset, detail-oriented and thorough with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet competing deadlines; high lever of prioritization, organization, and planning skills required; strong mechanical aptitude also needed to understand technical issues and assist with problem resolution where needed.
* Technology Aptitude/Skills: Strong skill set in AutoCAD/3D CAD programming (Inventor/Vault); ERP system experience is a plus (Oracle preferred); Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel) required as well.
* Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with various levels within the organization.
* Leadership/Behaviors: Ability to look at the big picture to get things done; can work independently as well as collaboratively with the team, can mentor, train and motivate others; takes ownership and accountability for projects and sees them through to completion; is highly creative and innovative for the design of new products.

Equipment Used:

* This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:

* Ability to operate a motor vehicle as needed for travel in the role
* Ability to sit at desk for 5+ hours per day
* Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen for majority of day 6-7 hours
* Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow for 5+ hours per day
* Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis daily due to nature of the work, throughout the day
* Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
* Ability to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and computer on-going
* Ability to listen to customers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly
* Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull, walk, stoop, crouch, and carry items frequently
* Lifting up to 15 lbs. sporadically

Environmental Conditions & Travel:

* The employee is primarily exposed to a normal office environment with moderate noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments and client locations.
* Travel: No travel required for this position.
