GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Engineer for the Water and Wastewater Group in St. Louis, MO. The role will largely be focused on the planning, design, and construction of a diverse range of water and wastewater focused engineering projects.

Specific responsibilities will include:  

  • Working with design teams in the preparation of construction plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for pipelines, pump stations, groundwater wells, and storage reservoirs
  • Preparing engineering studies and related reports and technical memorandums
  • Performing hydraulic analyses using manual or computer based software applications
  • Preparing other engineering calculations and similar project related duties
  • Conduct field work to evaluate project requirements, opportunities, and constraints
  • Employ your AutoCAD and Civil 3D talents to create complete plan sets for construction

For success in this position, you will possess the follow skills:

  • Strong technical understanding of general civil engineering principles with an emphasis in water and wastewater conveyance and treatment
  • Ability to complete diverse assignments with a high attention to detail
  • Demonstration of an understanding of pipeline and pump station hydraulics
  • Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work well in a collaborative team environment and communicate ideas and technical information to staff, supervisors, and clients in a professional manner
  • Willing to occasionally travel to other GHD offices, client offices and project sites, perform occasional field observations related to design and construction
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Competency in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D is desired
  • Competency in the use of GIS tools is desired


  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 0 to 2 plus years of civil engineering experience, consulting experience is highly desirable
  • Engineer-In-Training Certificate/Registered
