GBAM AML/KYC Senior Data Analyst

Job Description:

Wholesale Credit is an integrated underwriting, monitoring and product management division servicing wholesale businesses in Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB), Global Markets and Global Wealth & Investment Management. It interfaces with an aligned, fulfillment and servicing function, supported by an independent risk management approval organization. With employees located in nearly 300 cities around the world, the business is focused on streamlining the delivery of credit to improve client experience and enhance productivity.

Within Wholesale Credit the Analytics & Information Strategy (AIS) organization is responsible for delivering high-quality global banking data for enterprise and regulatory reporting uses. To do this, the team executes a comprehensive data management program that ensures data are complete, accurate, timely, and fit for intended uses.

The AML/KYC Data Management team is the part of Wholesale Credit Analytics and Information Strategy (AIS) responsible for overall business management and governance of the GBAM AML/KYC data.

GBAM AML/KYC Senior Data Analyst

The data that is created and captured during the GBAM process for on-boarding new clients (currently taking place on the “AWARE” system) is the “AML/KYC data”. The GBAM AML/KYC Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for executing the work necessary to ensure this data set is complete, accurate, timely, and fit for use. This overall stewardship of the data entails the establishment of data controls, ongoing maintenance and monitoring of these controls, supporting change efforts to ensure there is no unintended disruption to the AML/KYC data, and leading the work related to addressing issues with the AML/KYC data.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Partnering with Technology and Business Process Owners to create and maintain the necessary metadata (e.g. data domain catalogue, inventory of downstream data uses)

  • Supporting the AML/KYC Data Manager and partnering with Technology, Business Process Owners and manage data provisioning

  • Supporting testing of the AML/KYC by Enterprise Independent Testing, Audit, Enterprise Data Management, and external regulators

  • Meeting Enterprise standards for controlling risks related to the capture, transport, and use of AML/KYC data

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and (data) modeling skills

  • Experience as a business analyst and or technical skills such as proficiency with SQL, Access, ETL tools

  • Very strong written communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Audit or Independent Testing experience

  • Prior experience working to meet Bank of America Enterprise Data Management standards

  • Familiarity with Bank of America or GBAM AML/KYC standards, and related standards such as Sanction Screening

  • Experience managing change, creating and executing test plans
