Responsibilities
NP Position Description
* Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
* Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
* Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
* Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
* Assists with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
* Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
* Facilitates the patient's transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
* Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
* Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
PA Position Description
* Examines patients and establishes diagnoses by patient history, physical examination, and other criteria. Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory, radiographic, and other diagnostic tests.
* Identifies, develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care for the patient to promote, maintain and restore health.
* Offers counseling and education to meet patient needs.
* Prescribes, dispenses, and administers medication according to applicable Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations.
* Refers and consults with appropriate health care providers.
Qualifications
NP Qualifications
* Graduate of a school of nursing
* Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program
* Ability to obtain or have a current APRN license in good standing to practice in Arizona
* Prior Urology experience preferred
PA Qualifications
* Graduate of a school of Physician Assisting
* Ability to obtain or have a current license in good standing to practice in Arizona
* Prior Urology experience preferred
