Non-Tenure Eligible Clinical Professor in Analytics (all levels)

Department: MCC Masters in Analytics

The Master of Science in Analytics (MSiA) program at Northwestern University invites candidates to apply for the position of Clinical Professor and Deputy Director to start on September 1, 2023.

Minimum Qualifications and Other Credentials
Applicants must have completed, or will have completed by the start date, a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in data science or a closely related field, and have demonstrated excellence in theoretical and/or computational research within the field. Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to:
  • Bayesian approaches
  • data streaming and warehousing
  • deep learning
  • machine learning
  • natural language processing
Candidates will be considered at the Assistant, Associate or Full level depending on experience.

Statement of Duties
The candidate will be expected to teach typically four courses per academic year (ten-week quarters in fall, winter, and spring); lead the solicitation and securement of industry sponsors for Practicum and Capstone projects; serve as project advisor for Practicum and Capstone student teams; organize the annual Analytics Exchange conference, including securing external guest speakers; assist with the admissions application review process; lecture in the program's opening boot camp. Additionally, the Deputy Director will provide consistent input and thought leadership on improvements/modernizations for the program's curriculum and work with faculty to maintain consistency and quality of instruction.
