This hospital is known for their large Women and Children Service Line, including their Labor and Delivery unit, Postpartum Mother Baby unit, their Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, outpatient OB/GYN clinics, and Parent Education programs. The Mother Baby Postpartum unit offers private rooms that are designed to create a calming, inviting environment for new mothers and their newborns. New mothers have the option to “room-in” with their baby or utilize the newborn nursery. This state-of-the-art unit is fully equipped with the most advanced technology and a postpartum team of registered nurses, nursing support technicians, clinical nursing students, volunteers, and social workers. The department also offers 24/7 accessibility to on-call Obstetricians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Midwives, Neonatologists and other specialists for the postpartum patients or nursing staff to consult.
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Postpartum RN will work the night shift, providing direct patient care to patients staying in the large 40+ bed mother baby postpartum unit. Working alongside a team of specialized nurses, physicians, technicians, and ancillary staff, the Postpartum RN will ensure patients and families receive exceptional, quality patient care throughout their stay. With a prior clinical background working in a mother baby unit, the Night Shift Postpartum RN will assist the leadership team with new-hire education, precepting, cross collaboration and communication with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the unit. The Postpartum RN also has the opportunity to join several hospital committees.
Since the Night Shift Postpartum RN will be working in a large, busy unit, the Postpartum Registered Nurse should have a clinical background working in a mother baby unit along with an active RN license.
