Microbiology Supervisor - Full-Time - Days
Within the Clinical Laboratories of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, each achievement is defined by a commitment to getting it right the first time, every time. We're inviting you to join the respected laboratory professionals who Make It Possible.
Assume oversight of our Microbiology Laboratory, including administrative, personnel and technical duties. We're seeking a leader with the tenacity to spark change at one of the nation's most respected university hospitals. Take command in leading a team of Microbiology Technologists and take pride in your career as a resource to the laboratory leadership team. Be the front line liaison between laboratory staff and world-renowned physicians and our exceptional Nursing Departments. Monitor instrument QC, train staff, analyze summary reports, initiate new lots of QC material for instruments and determine targets. Be at the forefront of maintaining inventory supplies and products for our patients in addition to other supervisory responsibilities. Thrive on the leading edge of clinical laboratory advancement, at one of the most respected centers in your field.
This is a day shift position, Monday - Friday with hours from 8 AM - 4 PM.
Preferred Criteria
* 3-5 years supervisory experience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to train staff and maintain engagement
* ASCP certification
Required Criteria
* Minimum of 6 years of clinical laboratory experience or 4 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master's degree or 2 years of experience with a Ph.D. as required by NYSDOH
* Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or other related field
* New York State license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
