Scope of the Job

As a key member of the Company's senior leadership team and reporting to the CFO, the Vice President of Operations will provide the vision, leadership, and strategy to oversee, lead and further develop the manufacturing and distribution of products. This role will have oversight over the entire manufacturing and distribution/logistics effort and is responsible for translating the department's overall strategy in production, shipping, supply chain, logistics, and quality control.


  • Leads the assigned departments to proactively support the company’s growth plans
  • Maximizes facility efficiency through best in class processes and leverages as need 3PLs and 3 PM resources to scale effectively.
  • Oversee the manufacturing team to ensure cost efficiencies, product quality, scalability to support the overall growth plans
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for production planning, distribution, logistics, inventory management. The role is responsible for the overall operation of the distribution network with a focus on driving efficiencies in cost and service levels
  • The ultimate responsibility for the organization’s oversight of supply chain/manufacturing and management of all technical operations activities to deliver against sales demand
  • Work in partnership with management to develop supply chain strategy and plans that support the direction of the teams
  • Manage and coordinate resources to ensure product quality standards and supply chain needs to meet demand and are within budget
  • Recruits, retain, develop high-performing and diverse team with a positive spirit while building a succession plan for the departments
  • Serves as a role model in the organization and coaches/develops the team to achieve their fullest potential, setting clear expectations and providing timely feedback
  • Develop and implement metrics to track and manage successful, timely accomplishment of assigned goals, objectives, and projects
  • Represent the Company's manufacturing to regulatory authorities, customers, board members, and investors
  • Prepare and maintain department budget and holds P&L responsibility
  • Leads assessment and analyses resulting in recommendations for Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO). Qualify and negotiate with CMOS
  • The transition of strategy into an executable series of manufacturing plans and quality control systems to ensure deliverables meet approved budgets, timelines and adhere to all laws, guidelines, and required quality control standards
  • Responsible for resolution of all production-related investigations
  • Ensures safety, quality, and compliance with GMP and OSHA standards
  • Champions innovation and continuous improvement and contributes to the business results through the quality of decisions, results, and advice
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with organizational resources and customers

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree. MS, MBA, or Ph.D. strongly desired
  • 15+ years of leadership and managerial experience directly leading people in a fast-paced manufacturing organization including leading teams, projects, and programs, and directing the allocation of resources in an operations environment
  • Ability to manage a full operating budget with strong budgeting and cost containment skills
  • Experience establishing manufacturing and quality systems
  • Experience managing CMOs, 3PMs, and 3PLs
  • Experience in distribution center operations
  • Strong ability to utilize Warehouse Management Systems
  • Outstanding record of accomplishment in commercial manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and logistics
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to partner with a variety of levels
  • Specific experience in health & beauty and/or natural products manufacturing highly desired
  • Mission-driven and culture building
