Job Description Overview We have an exceptional opportunity for a Fluent Japanese speaking Acquisition Logistics Manager in Arlington, Virginia working with the Japanese Ministry of Defense, ATLA Office. This position requires you to speak and write in Japanese fluently. Acquisitions Logistics Manager plays a pivotal role in the support of the Japanese supply system. The Acquisition Logistics Manager (ALM) will be responsible for detailed reviews of financial and inventory transactions, providing the necessary research to reconcile differences in shipments, billings and financial transactions. The ALM will provide technical analysis of logistics requirements to ensure effective accountability of Japanese defense requirements Responsibilities The candidate will provide logistics support to ATLA in support of the Japanese Military. The candidate shall support Acquisition Logistics Management efforts Creating reports and following up on reconciliation between billing statements and shipping documents, inquiring on problems with reconciliation, shipping, billing, and procurement in general, etc. Provide logistics inputs to acquisition documents, tracking shipments, validating quantities, reviewing billing invoices and resolving discrepancies both in quantities and pricing Review of Government-Furnished Information (GFI) and contract data submittals, Integrated Logistics Support analyses and studies, functional and physical configuration audits and inventory management Assist Japanese government office staff in resolving various logistics issues related to material ordered by their government agencies and shipped to Japan Provide administrative assistance in office matters to the Japanese staff as well as translation assistance Will be required to interface with both US government personnel as well as Japanese in-country counterparts and the Japanese embassy Qualifications Qualifications Education / Certifications: Formal post-secondary education is not required, however, a degree in a logistics, business, supply chain management, or technical field, from an accredited program is preferred This position will require U.S. citizenship and a Favorable clearance Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with acquisition policies and procedures including budget formulation and execution of policies and procedures sufficient to acquire and manage the logistic program for assigned training systems Demonstrated knowledge, skill and experience in the application of logistics support management principles, concepts, and methodology Minimum 3 Years of Experience working in a logistics/supply chain management specialty is required Have significant knowledge of and experience with Government contract and procurement procedures Possess the ability to coordinate and integrate the work activities of several different projects at any one time Possess the ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to the Logistics program Fluent Japanese and Business Level English are required for this role Skills & Technology Used: Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
