We need a SCCM Administrator / Engineer with 2 to 4 years’ experience and experience working with 2012 SCCM. This is a Remote Position and can be worked from any US location.
 
The SCCM Administrator will support an environment of endpoints by:

  • Packaging, testing, and deploying business software packages and updates to the end user environment
  • Executing inventory management processes for end user hardware and software assets
  • Building, testing, and deploying corporate desktop images

Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Application Packaging:

  • Deep experience with application installation and desktop configuration
  • Experience navigating the registry, Windows file systems, networks
  • Experience with understanding and documenting application requirements and dependencies
  • Distributed environment and enterprise-grade applications
  • Familiarity with working in virtual environments such as VirtualPC, Hyper-V, VMWare, etc.
  • Experience with scripting using a combination of VBScript, WiseScript, InstallAware, and /or PowerShell
  • Ability to follow a strict workflow process for QA and User Acceptance testing
  • Experience with SharePoint and web-based issue tracking tools
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to take direction
  • Experience with virtualizations technologies Microsoft App-V and/or VMWare ThinApp

Principal Duties and Responsibilities – SCCM Admin:

  • SCCM toolset deployment and infrastructure knowledge including troubleshooting, design, and implementation experience
  • Full understanding of SCCM toolset hierarchy including setup / troubleshooting
  • Ability to create Advertisement / Collections / Packages within a PCCLM toolset environment to accommodate multi-site software deployments
  • Understanding of setup / use / troubleshooting of software deployment Maintenance Windows
  • Full understanding of downloading and deploying MS patches using required software tools
  • Ability to develop custom reports within SCCM toolset
  • Evaluate alternatives for deploying and supporting applications in a managed environment
  • Provide 2nd level support for DMOPs support analysts
  • Provide 3rd level support for Deskside support and client support analysts
  • Evaluates current procedures and processes for accomplishing department objectives and continuously develops and implements improved practices
  • Consults with customers regularly to identify needs, develop and implement proposals
  • Identifies and prioritizes system requirements and enhancements, and communicates to executive management
  • Plans and oversees the rollout of all changes
  • Other duties as assigned

Principal Duties and Responsibilities – Operating System Support and Development:

  • Image Development and process design
  • Supports image building problems and issues for the client desktop environment – these tasks are not standardized and require independent thought and problem solving to resolve
  • Specifies standards for installation, configuration, and tuning of desktop equipment
  • Maintains documentation for configuration of PC architecture
  • Evaluates alternatives for deploying and supporting applications in a managed environment
  • Provides 3rd level support for desktop support analysts
  • Evaluates current procedures and processes for accomplishing department objectives and continuously develops and implements improved practices
  • Provides continuing project evaluation and feedback to team members
  • Consults with customers regularly to identify needs, develop, and implement proposals
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with customers
  • Identifies and prioritizes system requirements and enhancements, and communicates to executive management
  • Plans and oversees the rollout of all changes
  • Responsible for proper escalation, communications, and management of production system problems
  • Ability to train less experienced staff required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of all standard operating systems
  • Desired minimum experience: 2-4 years using industry standard Imaging tools (Microsoft ImageX)
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting, image testing, and regressive testing techniques
  • Experience with creating test plan documents, diagnosing image failures
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM, OSD, Task Sequences, Microsoft SMS, Microsoft BDD
  • Experience with WinPE, PXE, Driver integration, System Modification
  • Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks (i.e. WinBatch, VBScript, Batch Files)
  • Knowledge and experience with AdminStudio, App-V, InstallShield, and/or Wise Package Studio and windows installer
  • Specific PCCLM Certification REQUIRED i.e. MCTS: Administering and Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
