Ingot Plant Manager

We are looking for a fulltime Ingot Plant Manager to join our Lafayette Operations facility in the ArconicAluminum Extrusions (AEX) business unit, based in Lafayette, Indiana. Thisposition reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the efficientoperation of the Ingot    department; thisdepartment endeavors to engage in the production of aluminum ingot at thelowest cost while meeting quality and delivery commitments. The principalemphasis of this position is to develop and motivate a team of staff andsubordinates to effectively manage goals related to safety, quality, cost, anddelivery. The Ingot Plant Manager manages the overall activity of thedepartment and delegates to staff and    productionmanagers. The individual in this role develops subordinates through assignmentof duties, individual counseling, and management meetings. Through the productionsupervisors, the Ingot Plant Manager assures that production schedules, qualitystandards, and proper utilization of facilities are maintained on a dailybasis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to.:

  • Maintainingfocus on quality and delivery to internal and external customers

  • Coachinghourly and salary employees on how to improve through put and eliminate delayson a daily basis

  • Managingdaily, weekly, and monthly spending for the Ingot department

  • Integratecontinuous improvement into the Ingot work areas



Qualifications

BasicQualifications:

  • B.S.in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or a related field OR equivalent                          technicalexpertise in manufacturing operations

  • Minimumof 7 years of management experience in an industrial plant environment

  • Employeesmust be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Verification of employmenteligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is notavailable for this position.  

  • Thisposition is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as an U.S.Citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), PoliticalAsylee, or Refugee.

PreferredQualification

 
  • Proficientin Microsoft Office Suite of products

  • Goodcommunication skills are a must as well as an aptitude for detailed workrequiring a high degree of accuracy

  • Environmental,Health and Safety Focus/Orientation

  • Demonstratedleadership, organizational, communication, problem solving, and conflictresolution skills

  • Abilityto establish sound priorities and objectives and be able to function in a highpressure work environment characterized by constant change

  • Mustbe self-motivated, possess the ability to motivate others, set direction, expectationsand follow-up to ensure success
