Quality Assurance Specialist

SUMMARY

To complete quality assurance by performing file reviews for assigned campuses and areas to ensure compliance n Financial Aid Packaging, Return to Title IV and Refund calculations, Concorde Loan documentation and VA Benefit Administration.  This position will have a dotted line to the Internal Auditor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete file reviews for new, continuing, re-entry, withdrawn, and graduate students.
  2. Items to be reviewed include, but are not limited to, Verification, C-codes, Professional Judgements, Packaging, Return to Title IV and Refund calculations, and VA Certification.
  3. Track and maintain accuracy performance of Financial Aid Advisors and Directors.
  4. Prepare reports for management and campus leaders showing accuracy performance, highlighting errors of strength and where deficiencies are present.
  5. Suggest training topics to Campus Support Center Financial Aid Director based on error trends.
  6. Submit monthly reports to Internal Auditor and General Council of items reviewed, highlighting any problem areas that need to be followed up on.
  7. Understand and comply with applicable Federal regulations/procedures per the annual Federal Student Aid Handbook and Federal and State Regulations.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree required.
    • 10 years f experience in Financial Aid may substitute for Education requirement.
  • 5 years of experience in Financial Aid required.
    • R2T4 experience required.
    • Packing in a non-term, clock to credit hour environment required.
    • VA experience preferred.
  • Must not currently be in Default on any Federal Student Loans or go into Default on any Federal Student Loans while employed.
  • Must be detailed oriented and be a quick learner of complex processes.
  • Must multi-task successfully and have strong time management.
