Living and Balance Wellness Center, founded in 2021, is dedicated to creating the best environment for children and young adults within their families and communities. We specialize in personalized in-home and community support services including mentoring, behavior coaching, living skills training, and family support. Our approach is centered on building strong relationships and fostering a positive future.

Position Overview:

Living and Balance Wellness Center, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is currently seeking a Skills Trainer, also known as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or Behavioral Coach, to enhance our services for underserved youth aged 6-17. This role focuses on teaching essential life skills, promoting emotional well-being, and supporting family dynamics to help youth achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of expertise, compassion, and a commitment to our values of collaboration, integrity, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Develop and implement coaching plans that include executive function skills to help youth manage time, and organize, plan, and prioritize tasks.

  2. Facilitate individual and group sessions, focusing on practical life skills and emotional and psychological support.

  3. Actively collaborate with families, providing them with tools and strategies to enhance their interactions and support systems at home.

  4. Regularly communicate with each child’s family team, delivering progress updates and adjusting coaching plans based on comprehensive feedback.

  5. Manage a caseload of 2-6 children tailored to meet the specific needs of the area, the families involved, and the business requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  2. MINIMUM 2 years of experience in behavioral health, with a specific focus on child and adolescent development.

  3. Capability to use personal devices (phone and laptop) for secure access to company portals.

  4. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.


Required Credentials and Availability:

  1. Current tuberculosis (TB) test.

  2. Valid CPR/First Aid certification.

  3. Unrestricted AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  4. Valid Driver’s License with an impeccable driving record.

  5. Availability from Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 8 PM.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: Minimum is 20 hours per week

Schedule:

  1. After school

  2. Monday to Friday

  3. Weekends as needed

  4. During Summer: 9 am to 8 pm, Monday to Thursday, Friday to Saturday off
