Position Summary:

Data and Technology are key cornerstones of the COMPANY Masters Circle for driving business and brand growth.  Additionally, Data and Technology has been identified as one of the 5 top business priorities by the overall CMO community.  As part of the Data and Technology imperative, MarTech has been deemed a top priority area by marketers, given the substantial investments and the exploding complex landscape marketers are required to navigate.  COMPANY intends on being fully immersed in the MarTech ecosystem with the creation of a comprehensive industry initiative to help marketers demystify the Tech Stack, bring greater clarity and transparency to the system overall, and help CMO’s and their organizations optimize their Data and Technology investments.  COMPANY’s Data and Technology practice is squarely positioned at the center of these strategic imperatives and our aim is to build out and scale products that will be recognized as the go-to resource for navigating marketing technology in the U.S. and globally. This role will be responsible for leading the COMPANY’s Marketing Technology and Futures function and overseeing the creation of its core products and services.   This will also entail building a team and supervising staff as they develop new products and services for COMPANY members.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of Position:

  • Provide dedicated leadership to the Group EVP in meeting the MarTech mandate as outlined by the Global CMO Growth Council
  • Quickly establish credibility as a leader and an innovator and develop ongoing relationships with top MarTech providers and industry leaders to facilitate content creation, partnership optimization and CMO thought leadership
  • Oversee the development of custom assets intended specifically for CMOs and client-side marketer MarTech leaders, to be shared within their community as they are deemed mission critical.   Assets will include conferences, committee meetings, webinars and proprietary new content for members. 
  • Execute strategic initiatives in partnership with Group EVP designed to:oHelp marketers master tech stack
  • Address specific MarTech pain points
  • Advance marketer capability in technology “futures”
  • Drive ad tech transparency and lower ad tech tax

Competencies Sought:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Deep subject matter expertise in MarTech and data-driven marketing, including direct senior-level MarTech experience at a client, agency, or MarTech solutions provider or start-up
  • Highly conversant in MarTech/Tech Stack components, procurement, integration and socialization
  • Dynamic leadership style and ability to interact with high level executives from member organizations and key Data & Marketing Technology partners and industry players
  • Excellent project mCompanygement skills and ability to drive key strategic initiatives.  Getting things done in an environment of change is a continuously present imperative
  • Excellent communications skills – able to write and present effectively; adjust to fit the audience and the message; strong ability to get a message across and be persuasive
  • Self-directed and mature approach to colleagues, members, and the industry
  • Start-up sense of urgency and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Adapts well to change and is comfortable with fluid agenda/scope

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifying for this position normally requires the following:

  • 15+ years of experience in data driven marketing sales; client, agency or data, Companylytics or marketing technology solution provider
  • Global and industry experience is considered very helpful
  • Hands-on experience with data, Companylytics, or MarTech is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA is a plus
