Are you passionate about safety and interested in resolving sophisticated construction projects? We are looking for an Electrical Project Management Specialist to join our Core Projects team. In this role, you will lead assigned core electrical projects to meet the scope, schedule, safety, environment, quality, and financial objectives of each project.

What You Will Do:

* Establish a safe, healthy work environment for employees and contractors by driving accountability for safety performance and by regularly reviewing and communicating policies, practices, expectations, and positive reporting.
* Minimize the environmental impact of project activities with accountability for environmental compliance and practices as well as role modeling personal environmental responsibility.
* Actively participate in development of the scope of work, schedule, costs and risks of assigned projects to ensure the project plan can be successfully executed, prior to transition to execution.
* Understand and effectively use the project management systems and project management practices to achieve positive scope, schedule, quality and cost results and lead and mitigate risks on each project.
* Monitor and report on project progress by actively monitoring the performance of each project, using key performance indicators, and taking the vital actions to correct adverse situations or trends.
* Implement and lead changes when necessary to meet project objectives.
* Staffing Project - Leading project teams by ensuring they are staffed and capable to meet the challenges and objectives of each project and removing barriers to success.
* Performance Monitoring - Ensuring performance of project team members is regularly shared and communicated with functional leaders.
* Lead quality assurance - Ensuring projects comply with Company standards, specifications, practices, and procedures and to government regulations and codes by maintaining high standards of performance.
* Continuous Improvement - Identify process improvement opportunities and support change initiatives.
* Build relationships and collaborate with project partners by understanding their needs, through early engagement in decisions and plans that affect them while addressing and resolving issues.

Who You Are:

You have the following education & experience:

* University degree, or related electrical engineering, electrical construction, technical operations, or project management training and / or experience specific to electrical projects.
* 10 or more years of progressively responsible related working experience in the pipeline or electrical utility industry, with 5 plus years related to project management.
* Solid understanding of project management methods and techniques, PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
* Strong leadership and management, including organizational and planning skills.
* Lead meetings and set expectations for project team and stakeholders.
* Successfully negotiate win-win solutions.
* Predict and find issues and potential risks before they arise and implement plans to manage.
* Taking immediate and independent action to resolve issues or problems when they arise.
* Conveying a strong sense of urgency and driving issues to closure.

Working Conditions:

* Office environment with frequent travel to field locations (potentially during extreme weather conditions), regulatory agencies, customer offices and other Company offices.
* Time commitments often extend beyond normal working hours.
* Calm, quick decision making under intense conditions and making disciplined decisions in the face of uncertainty.
