A CPA firm located in New York City is seeking an experienced Auditor for a promising Senior-level opportunity on their staff. Working with the firm's Nonprofit, Government, and Healthcare Group, the Senior Auditor will be responsible for planning and executing day-to-day activities of audit engagements for governmental and nonprofit clients. 

Responsibilities

The Senior Auditor will be responsible for:
  • Identifying and communicating accounting and auditing matters to Managers and Partners
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Applying knowledge and comprehension of professional accounting and auditing standards to client organizations, including those requiring Single Audits
  • Supervising and reviewing associate work, providing feedback and guidance
  • Assisting where needed in the preparation of financial statements
  • Preparation of Form 990 for nonprofit and certain governmental organizations
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Accounting / Audit experience
  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • Experience in a Public Accounting role/setting
  • Experience with Audits of both Governmental and Nonprofit organizations
  • Experience with Governmental organizations and familiarity with GASB Accounting principles
  • Experience performing Single Audits related to federal awards programs in accordance with the Uniform Guidance
  • Familiar with Auditing nonprofit organizations, including preparation and review of the Form 990
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
