Plant Manager

Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for direction and control of ongoing operations of all departments, ensuring compliance with Six Sigma/LEAN efforts.
- Manage and direct the activities of department managers, plant engineering, and HR staff by developing and reviewing operating plans, establishing objectives to ensure productivity, quality, cost control, and scheduling goals.
- Coordinate plant and division/corporate resources to resolve material, process, and production problems in the plant.
- Partner with the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to ensure a safe environment for all employees and visitors by developing and implementing a comprehensive safety and emergency response program.
- Ensure development and implementation of annual operating plans and timely resolution of deviation from budget to meet financial objectives of the plant.
- Direct and organize all plant departments to ensure adequate supply of high quality products, implementing quality manufacturing processes and control programs to meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Develop effective plant operations, optimize production schedules, and continually improve production efficiencies, scrap rates and product quality throughout the operation.
- Provide leadership and direction to all Plant personnel.
- Contribute to the overall growth and development of the company through effective communications with sales and technical groups.
- Promote positive labor relations inside and outside the plant by ensuring consistent application of company policies.
- Ensure compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures.
- Support GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
- Support and be involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs.
- Quality Mode Element Owner for Operational Strategy.
- Provide all employees the ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality and food safety requirements.
- Ensure that Management provides the resources required to implement and manage the SQF system.
- Actively engage employees in understanding and aligning activities to achieve strategic objectives.
Position Specifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; MBA preferred.
- Must have eight or more years’ experience in a folding carton packaging industry or similar manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Foresight, creativity, sense of urgency, and good organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
Pay Range: $129,700.00 - $172,900.00
