Interventional Cardiovascular (Pre-Op) Admission & Recovery (ICAR) is seeking a full time Night Shift Registered Nurse. 3 x 12-hour night shifts (Monday-Friday) no weekends! We are located on the ground floor of the Inova Schar Heart & Vascular Center – Fairfax Medical Campus. This is a fast paced, team-oriented unit with an emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration. Many opportunities for growth and involvement in the unit and hospital initiatives.
High acuity, acute setting.
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure care of outpatient and inpatient populations,
- Electrophysiology procedures- pacemaker/ICD placement, Micra pacemaker, ablations-VT, SVT, A-Fib, A-Flutter, Watchman,
- Cardiac catheterization procedures- left and right heart caths, heart biopsies, ASD/PFO closures, carotid stents,
- Interventional Radiology procedures- angiograms, chemoembolization, IVS filter, Mediports, thrombolysis, venograms, G/J tube placements, nephrostomy and biliary tubes

Requirements:
•1 year experience in an acute care setting is required (prefer stepdown or cardiac experience).
•Education - BSN or AD
If RN has an AD, within 6 months of start date the RN must meet with their nurse leader and:
-Identify which Accredited School the employee plans to attend
-Submit a review of transcript from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
-Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date.
-Complete BSN within 24 months of start date
•BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required and ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months)
•RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN
•Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills
•Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others
•Proficient computer skills required
