HR Generalist
OVERVIEW:
This is a hands-on role that is responsible for HR administrative tasks for US Salaried employees. Bringing a strong customer service focus, the HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting employees with general HR inquiries, and managing transactions related to the complete life cycle of an employee. This role will identify opportunities to increase efficiency in service delivery by focusing on continuous improvement of HR processes.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routine HR Inquiries, Activities and HRIS Transactions
Handle all routine HR inquiries within SLA and escalate as necessary, managing to completion
Conduct HR activities including orientation, leaves of absences, exit meetings, etc.
Process HRIS transactions within SLA, ensuring data integrity and quality
Serve as the primary point of contact for guidance on HR policies, processes and self-service tools to employees and managers, escalating when necessary to internal COEs and external resources
Participate and assist with campus events.
Lead initiatives such as Service Awards, Intern Program, United Way, Cristo Rey Student Program, etc.
Assist with departmental HR projects and initiatives as needed
Maintain employee documentation within Workday and conduct periodic audits
Assist with unemployment claim management and personnel data requests
Assist with immigration processes and paperwork such as required postings, supplying information requested by HRBP or legal counsel
Other Duties
Define, develop, and maintain concise documentation for procedures, work processes and reports.
Collect, analyze, and prepare visual HR related information such as the preparation of scorecards and dashboards as warranted
Perform root-cause analysis using data, identify performance gaps and suggest process improvements that can streamline and improve customer service
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field.
Minimum 2 years HR experience is required, additional years of HR experience preferred.
Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
Strong foundation in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using HR systems including Workday.
Knowledge of federal and state regulatory and compliance requirements impacting HR processes including disability and discrimination laws - FMLA, ADAAA, USERRA etc.
Sense of initiative, urgency and drive to complete tasks.
Approachable and customer focused.
Ability to work independently with attention to detail and keep workload organized.
