Our client, a national real estate company with operations throughout PA/DE seeks a business unit controller to join their rapidly growing team!
The successful business unit controller will use an analytical approach to successfully take financial responsibility for profit center operations as a Business Unit Controller. You'll be part of the core senior management team and, as such, play a major role in developing the strategic direction of business development. You will foster an internal "Business Partner” relationship with Operations, designed function as the link between the development of long-term goals and objectives and the execution of the strategies to achieve those long-term goals and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities of the Business Unit Controller will include:
Direct all aspects of the monthly forecasting, annual planning and 5 year planning processes for profit center operations
Provide value-added financial analyses to assess business initiatives and to assist senior management in determining the direction of operational decisions within the business unit geography.
Oversee new project feasibility analysis, to provide strategy on how to optimize new deals to ensure that they meet internal goals and criteria
Recommend operational, process, and procedural improvements across operational areas as a result of your financial analyses
Review and analyze monthly financial statements, business unit performance, sales, production and costing metrics to conduct analysis of profitability and asset utilization
Actively provide ad hoc analysis and periodic studies as requested by management
The ideal business unit controller candidate will have a Big 4/private mix with a good blend of accounting/financial analysis background, some in a demonstrated supervisory capacity.
Other qualifications of the successful business unit controller will include:
7+ years business experience in accounting, financial analysis, planning or economic analysis
MBA and/or CPA
Proficiency with Excel
Operational finance, large manufacturing, or real estate experience very highly preferred
