Plant Engineer - Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide plant engineering and design support services for the Covanta Essex Facility. Boiler Reliability Engineering:
Provide boiler outage inspection services for the Essex facility.
Serve as lead engineer for inspections during boiler outages
Prepare boiler outage Condition Assessment Reports
Compile and analyze inspection data
Develop and revise standard specifications for boiler outage work scopes
- Develop repair and capital improvement work scopes and cost estimates
Plant Operations Engineering:
- Plant performance results engineering
- Preparation of plant monthly performance reports
- Boiler combustion controls engineering support
- Identify areas for production improvement and cost optimization
Asset Improvement Project Engineering:
Provide engineering and design support for asset improvement project development and execution.
Maintain the Covanta Technical Standards and Service Bulletins as required.
- Prepare technical standards variance requests as required
- Write and revise detail technical specifications for use by the Facility
- Prepare Facility Change Notice (FCN) documents for the review and approval of facility changes or improvements.
This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills as it will interface with all levels of the organization.
Candidates must be able to travel to other facilities, if needed, and have the ability to work in close conditions to accomplish proper inspections.
Direct boiler experience preferred but not necessary. To be considered for this position, candidate must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, and a bachelor’s degree in either mechanical or industrial engineering.
