Position works remote and not from a Benchmark location. Benchmark is looking for a seasoned Engineering Business Development Executives who will be focused on supporting Engineering Sales in all of the business sectors: Medical, Industrial Equipment, Telecommunications & Computing and Aerospace & Defense. Reporting directly to the Engineering Sector Vice President, an Engineering Business Development Executive is responsible for developing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate must be very comfortable with a hands-on role and able to communicate effectively with VP and Director level engineering management at the target accounts.

Essential Functions and Competencies

•Implement a Lead with Engineering strategy
•Identify target customers who outsource and have Design Engineering needs (aka professional services)
•Engage with senior level decision makers for technical projects, typically VP or Dir level
•Position Benchmark to bid on significant Design Engineering opportunities that lead to Manufacturing
•Understand and evaluate customer financial and business standing
•Leverage Sector macro trends Tactical
•Communicate with VP and Director level engineering management
•Present “One Benchmark” value proposition
•Seek complex and life-saving design opportunities
•Know who the competition is for every opportunity
•Actively lead the proposal and response strategy
•Work closely with Engineering team to close new business

Qualifications / Education / Experience

Engineering Business Development Executives will work cross-functionally with Benchmark Design Engineering leadership to ideate, support, implement and guide overall Engineering department evolution and growth. The following characteristics and experience will describe the successful candidate:
•Currently in an Engineering Business Development role with experience in one of the following industry segments: Medical, Industrial, Aerospace & Defense, or Telco/Compute.
•Any experience working in the EMS industry selling design & manufacturing services is highly advantageous.
•Experience working with external or OEM Design Engineering teams.
•Candidates must be capable of selling comprehensive design services into new accounts and the ability to personally develop, qualify, and close large, politically complex business solution opportunities at large clients.
•Experienced defining, setting and leading the execution of a business development plan to achieve sales goals
•Possess excellent organizational, time management, team building, verbal and written communication skills

At least ten years of progressive program sales experience, with three years in leadership role, mentoring others in program sales tasks and concepts.
•Technical: Ideal background in Biomed, EE, ME or Electro-Mech/Optical
•Tools: Must be proficient in MS PowerPoint and ideally in Salesforce or similar sales tracking tools.

Prefer: Dual- degree (e.g. 2 technical or 1 technical + MBA)
