Job Summary:  The Manager of Product Development is responsible for the execution of Prominence Health Plan’s Product Development Program. The Manager of Product Development assists the Senior Program Manager with the design, development, renewal and filing of health plan products including Medicare Parts C and D, large- and small-group health plans, third-party administration, and other commercial health plan products. The Manager of Product Development works closely with business leaders in the implementation and improvement of the plan’s Product Development Program. Responsibilities include: ensuring that health plan products meet or exceed regulatory requirements for Federal and State laws and regulations (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Nevada Division of Insurance, Texas Department of Insurance); product development; benefit design; form filing; bid submission; and, assessing the performance of health plan products and recommending improvement strategies. The Manager of Product Development will implement plan-wide initiatives, policies and processes related to the Product Development Program. This position reports to the Senior Program Manager.

Job Requirements

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Experience with the State and Federal laws, regulations, policies and practices for the administration of Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug Plan, and managed care organizations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or other related field; Master’s degree preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements for exceptional candidates.
  • Quality, performance improvement, and/or project management certification preferred.

 Experience:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in health insurance or health care.
  • Minimum two years’ demonstrated successful experience in product/business development, sales and marketing, administrative and/or operational duties in health care, preferably in a management role in a managed care organization.
