Human Resources Manager - ORD

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing a range of services to leaders focusing on strategic HR and Talent and Business Partnership. The candidate will perform as a trusted collaborator and adviser to senior level leadership and management in areas of change management, organization effectiveness, work environment, culture, and leadership. Candidate possesses a solid understanding of all HR functions and works with operations in areas such as employee relations, compensation, employee benefits, and performance management. We need a strong leader who can develop an environment where our employees and teams can thrive.
The Human Resources Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, driving functional excellence, process improvement and creating a great culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit and Retain High-Quality People
§ Develops and implements strategic sourcing partnerships and programs to ensure the availability of qualified candidates at the right time.
§ Partners with Hiring managers to recruit and select salaried and hourly staff.
§ Implements screening and interview assessment processes to ensure the best from the amount the qualified candidates are being hired.
§ Implement the philosophy of “hiring the best fit” and ensures that prospective employees’ personal values are aligned with the company’s corporate values.
§ Champion and oversee the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision.
§ Collaborates with different managers in continuously reviewing and rationalizing organization structure with the objective of eliminating redundant work activities and achieve overall organization efficiency.
§ Manage the termination process and exit interviews.
Training and Organizational Development
§ Evaluate the effectiveness of in-house training programs, as well as individual employee developmental plans, as the basis for enhancing the overall training and development effectiveness of the organization.
§ Recommends and implements appropriate training programs that will further enhance and hone the behavioral and technical competencies of the team.
§ Ensure that an effective performance management system is in place — coaches managers in employee recognition and exit strategies.
§ Manage core performance management and feedback processes. Develop manager capability on employing these processes.
Compensation and Benefits
§ Conducts periodic reviews and updates the company’s job evaluation process and ensure that all jobs are properly evaluated and graded.
§ Collaborates with the local airline service vendors in the conduct of periodic salary survey and keep abreast of the Airports wage increases.
Employee Engagement/Employee Relations
§ Promotes Quality Culture Teams and employee engagement to promote a great place to work, engagement and culture initiative.
§ Train and develop managers and supervisors to develop subject matter expertise in the field of HR, and effectively perform their role as managers.
§ Create and foster an environment of trust and open-door policy where employees are free to consult with and can go leadership for any issues or concerns.
§ Participate on QCT team initiatives in support of local and corporate imperatives as needed.
§ Facilitates various employee communication, benefits and incentive programs.
§ Drives company values, vision and mission.
§ Investigates and responds to complaints received relative to allegations involving the site.
Ensures Legal Compliance and Best Practice:
§ Keeps the company abreast and updated on the various regulatory issues, including recent laws. Evaluates its implications and makes recommendations to Sr. management team for compliance.
§ Manage compliance with legal requirements such as FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA, ADA, Title VII, OSHA, etc.; work with Corporate Human Resources and Corporate Legal Department to prepare and submit government reports as required.
§ Oversees payroll data to ensure accuracy before submission to Corporate for processing.
§ Coordinates with US Customs to ensure compliance.
§ Process hologram badge applications with Board of Protection & Customs forms (also renewals, lost/stolen & terms).
§ Processes and manages unemployment claims for the location.
Skill and Education Requirements
§ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or another related field from an accredited university is required.
§ Professional of Human Resources Certification (SPHR) is preferred.
§ Ten (10)+ years experience of strategic Human Resource leadership experience with recent experience supporting large, organizations.
§ Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
§ Must be hands-on and capable of producing work with limited support staff.
§ Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations.
§ Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative, environment, with a track record of accomplishment with measurable business impact.
§ Demonstrated success conducting a comprehensive needs analysis, organization design, and development initiatives, implementing change models and developing organization structures while proactively driving ongoing optimization efforts.
§ Excellent project management skills including successful leadership of projects from the planning phase through completion.
§ Excellent leadership skills including; superb communication, delivery of results, consultative skills, partnership skills, and team building.
§ ADP workforce now/HRIS experience.
§ DOT and OSHA experience desirable.
