Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and be responsible for financial reporting, general accounting, regulatory and tax compliance, M&A integration support, vendor payments, and ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate financial statements and related analysis. This leadership role will be a critical partner to the Vice President of Finance as the company continues to scale organically and through acquisition.
Essential job functions and duties, including but not limited to:
- Responsible for coordination and completion of month-end close activities according to tight deadlines.
- Responsible for the preparation and delivery of the financial reporting and analysis to Corporate and Branch Management, US Regional office, and Group office in Sweden.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Company’s accounting policies and procedures for adherence to relevant GAAP.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and safeguarding of company assets.
- Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, core employee expense reports, and all internal purchases, including capital expenditures.
- Support financial and tax audits.
- Assist with the integration of acquired entities.
- Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive team environment.
- Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
- Manage a team of direct reports, including staff accountants and AP specialist, and a customer-facing Billing & Collections team supervisor; ensure the team is focused and motivated.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA (preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with accrual accounting required, acquisition integration experience preferred.
- Financial Management experience required.
Required Skills
- Experience with financial modeling preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and IBM Cognos Controller preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite of products, in particular, Excel and Word.
- Ability and willingness to keep and maintain confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and continuous process improvement mindset.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Be able to work in a team-based environment.
- Have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards safely and successfully.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
Physical Requirements
- Requires constant (67% - 100% of the time) sitting, standing, walking, reaching, writing, and typing.
- Requires constant ability to move freely about the office.
- Requires hearing and vision corrected to normal range.
- Requires ability to constantly operate office equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports including but not limited to: Accounts Payable Specialist and Staff Accountant(s).
