Develops and provides services related to the orientation,continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff.
Collaborates with nursemanagers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
Designs, delivers, andassesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies,departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use ofclinical information technologies
Position validates andverifies that appropriate education is occurring as per programs, processes andrequirements in various ways, ie. working alongside staff, shadowing,verbalization and direct observation in all clinical units
Collaborates with ClinicalEducation Coordinator to ensure successful roll out of educationalprograms/initatives
Assists in theorientation/mentoring of new hires along with the preceptor, ensuringcompetencies and training are completed timely
This position acts as backupfacilitator for General Hospital Orientation, and Employee Health for newemployee screenings in the absence of HR specialist/Infection preventionist
This position will beexpected to spend time on the clinical units during various shifts with staff.
This position will also hold House Supervisor responsibilities
Licenses:Current NM RN licensure or appropriate RN Compact licensure
Associate’s degree required,Bachelor’s degree preferred
Requirescritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action
CurrentBLS upon hire. Must maintain instructor status in BLS and at least two of thefollowing: ACLS, PALS, NRP, or AWHONN. NMDL preferred for travel to otherlocations; driving background check may be required
