Responsible for timely preparation of monthly customer invoices in accordance with contract terms, government requirements, and billing processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Invoice government and commercial customers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure invoices are in compliance with Billing processes and procedures, government regulations, and customer guidelines
  • Establish and maintain billing review process with Project Control Analysts and Program Managers
  • Maintain electronic records as appropriate, and in accordance with Billing procedures and Company record retention guidelines
  • Identify and research invoicing issues, including customer rejections and short paid invoices, assist with resolution as appropriate
  • Assist in managing the collection of customer invoices, including contacting customer to resolve delays in invoice and payment processing
  • Interface with Project Control Analysts and Project Managers to coordinate project reporting, including notification of billing in excess of contract values
  • Support Project Control with dispositioning identified unbilled balances
  • Participate in new project kickoff meetings to ensure coordination and consideration for contractual billing requirements
  • Support Financial Compliance, as necessary, with the preparation of the annual incurred cost submission
  • Identify process or procedural improvement opportunities in connection with assigned areas
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business discipline; job experience may be used in lieu of educational experience
  • Minimum of three years of Billing/Invoicing experience; government contract invoicing is a plus
  • Active DOD or other agency clearance highly preferred (ability to transfer as appropriate)
  • Experience Billing FFP, T&M and Cost Reimbursable contract types
  • Cost Point experience required; knowledge of Deltek T&E and Cognos ideal
  • Experience with Microsoft suite, proficiency in Excel is essential
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Self-starter, independent and willing to manage work with limited physical supervision
  • Ability to interact and communicate, both oral and written, with individuals across the organization

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, however, some extended or weekend hours may be required. Remote work environment currently in use at least through CY2021. Experience working remotely is required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
