OSP Field Engineer I

AFL Tacoma, WA (On Site) Full-Time
Responsibilities

* Co-ordinates field and site visits to collect relevant project information, including exact measurements of existing equipment, site details, digital images, route maps, etc. which will then be coordinated with the Outside Plant Engineer for further design
* Preferred to understand NESC standards
* Capable of reading basic utility maps
* Capable of reading OSP designs, maps, and SOW's
* Must have an understanding and working knowledge of OSP Construction and Design
* Collect pertinent information to apply for permits and easements
* Submit an organized job package for each project that could include maps, field notes, drawings, and digital images
* Maintain a safety focused job environment while working in public ROWs

Qualifications

* Preferred One year of OSP design or field
* Understanding of fiber optic telecommunications infrastructure and related services
* General understanding of methods for telecommunications placement (IE underground and aerial)
* Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) standards

Working Conditions

* Various project locations within the greater Tacoma area
* General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however the ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required
* Project related work hours and rotation to be determined based on project needs and requirements
* Work and project travel is required
* Outdoor work and exposed to a variety of weather conditions
* Must be able to work in the United States of America
