The rate for a traditional 3 unit course is $9033

Purpose:

The Department of Counseling Psychology in the School of Education & Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University invites applicants for part-time lecturer positions for 2024-2025. The department has two programs, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling. Selected candidates will have expertise or teaching experience in one or more of the programs.

Basic Qualifications

* Graduate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology

Selected candidates will have expertise or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas:

* CPSY 200 -- Psychology of Interpersonal Communications

* CPSY-214 - Evidence-Based Approaches to Psychotherapy

* CPSY 216 - Psychology of Human Development

* CPSY 218 - Foundations of Psychotherapy and Personality

* CPSY 219 - Psychology of Group Counseling

* CPSY 220 - Research Methods

* CPSY 231 - Multicultural Counseling

* CPSY 275 - Ethical and Legal Issues in Counseling

* CPSY 300 - Career Development and Life Planning

* CPSY 302 - Formal & Informal Assessment in Career Development

* CPSY 311 - Psychology of Marriage Counseling

* CPSY 315 - Family Therapy

* CPSY 317 - Therapeutic Interventions with Children

* CPSY 318 - Clinical Assessment I (DSM-V)

* CPSY 319 - Clinical Assessment II

* CPSY 320 - Substance Abuse Treatment

* CPSY 321 - Dual Diagnosis: Diagnosis and Treatment

* CPSY 323 - Psychopharmacology

* CPSY 324 - Biological Basis for Development

* CPSY 328 - Clinical Assessment: Issues in Child Diagnosis

* CPSY 381 - Health Psychology: Theory and Health

* CPSY 385 - Stress and Stress Management

* Additional courses as determined by the Department

Preferred Qualifications

* Doctoral level and licensed candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

TEACHING

Fulfill all responsibilities associated with teaching assigned courses, including but not limited to:

* Teach no more than two courses per quarter, and no more than four courses over three academic quarters (fall, winter, spring).

* Conducting and appearing at all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively;

* Assigning and evaluating assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback to students;

* Holding regular weekly office hours on campus;

* Submitting student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline;

* Administering numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses;

* Teaching from an approved syllabus or working with the Chair to design an appropriate syllabus.

* Fulfilling other academic duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Counseling Psychology.
