Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) P.E.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing mechanical designs, calculations, and specifications for HVAC and plumbing building systems. This role involves project management, client interaction, and presentations, fee estimating, proposal writing, mechanical design, specification writing, leading other mechanical engineers and designers on projects, quality reviews, and coordination with other engineering disciplines and architects on projects. Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Building Systems (HVAC & Plumbing) design.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for sustainable design.
Key Responsibilities
- HVAC Design and Engineering:

- Lead the design and specification of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, for various types of buildings.

- Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Project Management:

- Manage multiple projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors.

- Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, project schedules, and progress reports.
- Client Engagement:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.

- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to secure new and repeat business.

- Present technical solutions and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Technical Leadership:

- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.

- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to the firm's knowledge base.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering, with a focus on healthcare and education projects.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to HVAC systems.
- Advanced proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, TRACE).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and energy modeling is a plus.
