IoT Product Manager- Hybrid/Remote

FreeWave Technologies Irvine, CA (Remote) Full-Time
FreeWave is a leader in industrial IoT connectivity and edge computing. We are looking for Product Manager to join our growing team. We are developing hardware and software solutions for our customers in the industrial space focused on Smart Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater to name a few.

We are focused on building an Agile team with a customer first approach to defining and delivering products that are easy to use and deploy. Growing from our roots in providing low power long range networks in oil & gas to putting together complete solutions leveraging hardware and software to provide simple elegant solutions. This is an opportunity to join a nimble / fast paced team in a true startup environment while taking on various roles to support the product build out and launch.

The Product Manager is responsible for working closely with customers to define and deliver solutions based on their needs. You should have strong leadership and analytical skills, and the ability to provide subject matter expert advice and information. You will take products from conception to launch, creating short and long term product road maps, releases and end of lifecycle plans. You will work internally with cross functional teams and are comfortable in a customer facing role representing the product.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers to develop their IoT solutions using FreeWave’s hardware and software platform
  • Research and define new solutions for use cases is multiple verticals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive product plans/roadmaps including timelines, resources, milestones, and deliverables
  • Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, overseeing interdepartmental activities to execute plans.
  • Develop detailed product requirements, user acceptance testing, and manufacturing transfer.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on hardware and software dependencies
  • Drive the direction of cost management, component sourcing and bill of materials management
  • Influence the internal and external program stakeholders in the assessment, planning and management of new projects
  • Own and drive the resolution of product related issues with a cross functional teams.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical area
  • Experience collaborating with customers to build product requirements and development plans
  • 10 years experience with IoT products and systems, preferably with at least 5 in a Product Management capacity
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and semiconductor landscape
  • Self-starter and strong change management skills
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong ability to engage and influence people at all levels and functions in the organization (e.g. engineering, sales and manufacturing)

Nice-to-have
  • Experience in a commodities industry such as agriculture, oil and gas, water management, etc.
  • Knowledge of common industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPCUA, or others
