The Estimator is responsible for leading the estimating process for assigned projects by reviewing project specific pre-construction documents, scheduling estimating activities, and overseeing the estimating staff.
My client is a nationally known Multifamily Developer that is headquartered here in Houston. They are known for the construction of their Class A Luxury Apartments. They invest in their employees and strive for them to be successful within the organization.
Work closely with the Preconstruction Manager
Provide input to the project team to help determine bidding approach.
Read and interpret project specifications and plans to prepare detailed, comprehensive and accurate quantity surveys
Generates estimates & proposals for selected projects.
Obtains bidders lists for projects that have been scoped & estimated.
Actively pursues bid projects with timely follow up & awareness of project status.
Bachelor's degree (Engineering or Construction is required)
Familiarity with conceptual estimating, writing detailed scopes of work and reading blueprints
Field experience in installing or estimating sitework trades is preferred
Technical skills: Proficienct in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel for tracking construction costs.
Experience with with Takeoff and Sage estimating software programs, such as SmartBid, Timberline Estimating, Procore is a plus
Minimum of 3 year's experience in the construction industry with a multifamily general contractor or developer
Experience working on Multifamily construction projects
Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial
Candidate must demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of estimating processes and delivery methods
Vast knowledge of all trades: scope, time-frames/field execution, typical missed scope/exposure
