Java Developer

BCForward is looking for a highly experienced Java Developer for one of our client based in Cincinnati, OH.

Contract to Perm
REMOTE until COVID

The primary role of this Senior Java Developer is to provide development work and support on a project building an enterprise policy billing system to interface with agents and business customers.

Summary of Responsibilities

• provide analysis and development of specifications and review prepared programming specifications

• develop detailed system designs and review approved system designs with project team

• develop and coordinate technical implementation plan

• desk-check and unit test program code, assist with system testing

• develop program logic and review programs that require modification

• prepare and update all necessary documentation

• perform implementation activities

• provide production support, including on-call rotation and technical assistance to end-user & IT

• review schedules, objectives and priorities with service manager

• initiate suggestions for improvement to systems and procedures

• assist with routine work of the department as required

Summary of Qualifications

• proven experience in programming Java and Angular

• three or more years of software development (preferably full stack) experience in a complex distributed environment

• knowledge of the software development life cycle

• solid experience with .net, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets and XML/XSLT

• excellent communication and teamwork skills with the proven ability to multi-task

• the ability to provide application support, including responding to support after business hours

• effectively troubleshoot, debug and solve complex issues

• knowledge of file handling and manipulation tools and techniques

• strong analytical and organizational skills

• the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications

• self-starter and able to perform job with moderate supervision

• the ability to work in a team environment and to complete work independently
