Construction Project Engineer 3 with Security Clearance

MC Dean, Inc Washington, DC (Onsite) Full-Time
The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for the overall administration, organization and implementation of large, complex construction projects. Experience with multiple Trade Subcontractor activities- Civil, General Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire protection, Fire detection and commissioning. Provide technical direction & administrative support to the production superintendent(s) to ensure that the work complies with all engineering design, standards, codes, specifications, and design intention. Travel requirement: Applicant will be traveling between projects sites. Starting in Tyson's corner, VA with minimal travel to Richmond, VA. Relocating OCONUS August 2023 for 14-20+ months during construction & commissioning. Returning CONUS to Tyson's corner after commissioning is complete & site is fully operational to turn over to facilities management team. Responsibilities: * Support the day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project; ensure the success of their superintendent(s) and crews * Manage the complete material lifecycle: prepare specifications, coordinate design, review submittals, purchase material, track shipments, and confirm deliveries * Maintain organized and detailed project records * Identify, document, and resolve issues; ensure correction at the root-cause * Support project-closeout including punchlist creation, management, and closure * Maintain as-builts as work is completed The Project Engineer must be able to: * Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications. * Organize, prioritize, and manage many competing responsibilities * Communicate direction and ensure that it has been understood and carried out * Communicate with people outside the Company, represent the Company to customers, the public, the government, and other partners while maintaining a professional and courteous image Requirements: * B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or applicable STEM degree AND at least 5 years electrical/mechanical design or electrical/mechanical contracting industry experience. * Active Secret Security Clearance. * Experience and / or familiarity with several of the following: Design software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, REVIT), Project Management software (PM Online, MS Project), Scheduling software (P3/P6, Suretrack), Cost software (Accubid, McCormick). * Knowledge of design principles, relevant codes, and safety standards. * Familiar with producing and maintaining construction documents through the life-cycle of the project; including design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, calculations and narratives, contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, RFI's, submittals and change orders. * Accubid Estimating (Or equivalent) directly related to MEP Installations is preferred. * Primavera P6 CPM Scheduling Experience and proficiency (or equivalent) is preferred. * Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling method and General Contractor Schedules Abilities: * Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. * Sitting for extended periods of time. * Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. * Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. * Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. * Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. * Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. * Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. * Identify and understand the speech of another person. #AG
