The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service , for up to 180 days . The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members . Responsibilities for this internship position are: Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program. Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC. Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities. Outcome - Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team. DoD SkillBridge Eligibility: - Has served at least 180 days on active duty - Is within 12 months of separation or retirement - Will receive an honorable discharge - Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS - Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months - Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
meetings. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced International Trade Compliance Analyst to join our team . This position will report to the Manager of International Trade Compliance (ITC) of Strike and Special Mission Aircraft Business Unit and will require the ability to work on-site in McLean, VA USA. The International Trade Compliance Analyst position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. Export and Import control laws and regulations; applying for all necessary Export and Import authorizations; providing training to employees and guidance/interpretation of the international trade compliance regulations. Key Responsibilities: * Work with various functional areas to determine their export/import needs, and develop and implement appropriate strategies to meet business requirements and ensure full compliance with all regulatory agencies
* Prepare and submit necessary export/import authorization requests required to support international programs within Armament Systems * Review and approve international travel requests, foreign visit requests, and export/import transactions.
* Provide guidance and interpretation of US government regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
* Assist in the development and implementation of trade compliance policies and procedures, such as internal control plans for approved authorizations
* Manage all post approval activities such as recordkeeping, reporting requirements, approvals for data exports and international shipping authorizations
* Perform compliance assessments of license and agreement files and assist as necessary in any investigations of potential compliance violations. * Support and implementation of corrective actions that result from export/import compliance violations
* Prepare and deliver to programs, export and import internal control plans and proviso reviews
* Conduct export/import training and provide formal and informal communication/guidance to internal and external customers regarding all conditions of the export and import authorizations
* Assist in the review of export and import clauses in international new business contracts and provide recommendations
* Review of program contractual statements of work to assist in the development of the work scope for each export/import authorizations
* Make formal presentations in meetings, training environments and respond to questions from management, employees, customers, and vendors related to export/import compliance.
* Negotiates export/import control issues with internal and external customers and resolves issues in a win/win manner Basic Qualifications for International Trade Compliance Analyst (Level 2) * Will consider one of the following:
* High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of Trade Compliance, Contracts, and/or Legal Experience
* Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of Trade Compliance, Contracts, and/or Legal experience
* Master's degree with a minimum of 1 plus years of Trade Compliance, Contracts, and/or Legal experience
* Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
* Must be able to travel as needed
* Meets DoD Skillbridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29 Preferred Qualifications/Skills: * Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
* Experience assessing the applicability of ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions
* Proficient using EEMS, SAP, or OCR EASE software
* Experience using DECCS or SNAP-R
* Aerospace or Defense Industry Experience
* Experience using MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word products
* Experienced and comfortable providing training in person or via virtual methods
* Ability to prioritize and organize own workload
* Attention to detail
* Must have both excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong ability to work independently as well as with teams
* Strong collaboration and team building skills
* Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers
* Strong commitment to integrity and professionalism Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,200 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
