Job Description Summary

Leads the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting. Maintaining records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use. Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities. Supporting and assisting junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Job Description

  • Looking for an organized, efficient, deadline driven accounting professional. Work closely within department along with other departments to provide timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting as directed by management. Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and AAM standards.
  • Complete, review and analyze monthly and quarterly journal entries and balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual completion and reporting of sales, expenses, overtime, open purchase orders, inventories, taxes, capital projects, etc.
  • Quarterly and Annual SOX Audits to be completed timely and accurately. Manage fixed assets and complete required asset inventories.
  • Complete annual physical inventory as directed by supply chain management. Manage petty cash and Pcard reconciliation.
  • Complete monthly intercompany balancing, including intercompany accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Properly record and communicate all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable with Corporate Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
  • Assist Finance Manager with completion of all actuals, forecasting and budgeting processes; along with any other duties as assigned.
  • Create and apply automated tools for the updating, analyzing, and reporting of consolidated financial results.
  • Provides timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting as directed by management. Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
  • Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use. Performing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
  • Creating and applying automated tools for the updating, analyzing, and reporting of consolidated financial results.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA Accounting, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience using Plex preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience leading a team preferred.
